The South Florida Basketball Association (SFBA) was founded more than 40 years ago by former New York City basketball players who later settled in South Florida. Many founders came from multi-ethnic, underserved communities, where basketball became a pathway to lifelong success and achievement. The organization is committed to preserving the history, culture and legacy of the game, while celebrating the accomplishments of its members.
Through evolving leadership, the SFBA has expanded its membership and diversity while maintaining its longstanding traditions. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the SFBA supports charitable causes for those in need. Donations are tax-deductible under U.S. law.
Brotherhood Golf Outing — Boca Rio Golf Club: Hayden R.C. Trepeck
Temple Beth El of Boca Raton began in 1967 as a small group of dedicated pioneers and has since grown into the largest Jewish congregation in the area. The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation hosts this community-driven event to support students and teachers in local elementary, middle and high schools. The Chiera Family Foundation — Golf Classic (NICKS Camp)
The Chiera Family Foundation is a nonprofit established in memory of Nicholas R. Chiera and has spent over 25 years supporting children and young adults battling cancer. Through fundraising events, the foundation has raised more than $3.5 million to provide summer camp experiences, college scholarships and golf programs for cancer patients, helping thousands of children and survivors.
Inspired by Nicholas Chiera’s commitment to helping others, the foundation expands its impact through N.I.C.K.’S Camp, scholarships and golf programs, promoting the belief that "Nothing is Impossible for Cancer Kids."
Father’s Day Golf Tournament
The Father’s Day Tournament raises funds to support Zavier, a 21-year-old who is one of only seven people in the world diagnosed with Spinocerebellar Ataxia 32, a rare neurological disease. Through the efforts of his father, Xavier, and Mental Referee founder Leo, all proceeds help cover Zavier’s treatment, therapy, travel and daily care needs. More than just a golf tournament, the event brings the community together to support a family facing extraordinary challenges.
MPD – National Night Out
The City of Margate’s National Night Out celebrates the partnership between law enforcement and residents in a family-friendly, relaxed environment. Enjoy live demonstrations, music, games, giveaways and entertainment for the entire family during this annual event focused on positive community connection.
DOC RENO’s Bacon Beer & BBQ
Doc Reno’s annual South Florida Bacon, Beer & BBQ takes place at the Margate Sports Complex. Tomorrow’s Rainbow Pony Jail ‘N Bale
Tomorrow’s Rainbow has helped children and families heal from grief, loss and adversity since 2005 through specialized support services in a safe and compassionate environment. By combining equine-assisted psychotherapy with support groups, the organization provides unique opportunities for emotional healing and personal growth, helping clients find hope, understanding and joy.

YATC Golf Tournament
The Youth Automotive Training Center (YATC), founded by automotive pioneer Jim Moran in 1984, provides a free, nine-month training program that helps disadvantaged youth develop automotive, academic, job readiness and life skills. Through hands-on education and ongoing support, YATC empowers students to build successful futures and become productive members of their communities.
